A Shiny New Machine

For those of you who actually read this blog, (as opposed to just stopping by via elbo.ws to get some mp3s [you know who you are]) you know how I feel about Apollo Sunshine. So I’ll refrain from my normal gushing and just direct you to my previous posts about this amazing band here and here and here.

I just got back from seeing Apollo for the sixteenth time, if I’m counting correctly. They played at the Abbey Lounge on Beacon Street in Somerville. It was a free show, and not many people were there considering it was sort of a last minute thing with minimal promotion. They only played for about 30-45 minutes or so, and showcased a bunch of new material. Also, they threw in an amazing version of the song “Lord” from their self-titled album (BUY). I swear they make that song a little better everytime I see them. The new stuff sounds really good too, so I’m super excited to hear some more, although they haven’t really said yet when they plan to get recording again. I took a video tonight of them performing one of their new songs. They didn’t mention what the song was called, but I dug it pretty hard, so now I am giving it to you to dig just as hard. Enjoy.
